Oak is a 2-time Grammy award winning, hip-hop and pop producer & writer with a long history of achievements at the highest levels. Hailing from Istanbul, Turkey, his journey starts with a move to Atlanta, Georgia from his native home of Turkey in his early 20’s to study AI and network engineering. There, he was immediately indoctrinated and immersed into the world of R&B. From these origins, he’s successfully honed a signature sound that straddles both R&B and Pop, which positioned him as an influential creative in the room for mega projects early in his career, such as Alicia Keys’ Grammy award winning album “Girl On Fire,” Rihanna’s “Unapologetic,” Brandy’s single “Beggin’ and Pleadin’” and Usher’s Grammy nominated single “Good Kisser.”
Throughout his career, Oak has had consecutive #1’s with noteworthy talent at the top of their game, like Alessia Cara’s “Here” and “Scars to Your Beautiful,” which was shortly followed that up with another chart topper by Demi Lovato, the radio #1 record “Sorry Not Sorry.” (the top performer among 5 others on her album he produced). In addition to consecutive Billboard #1’s, his work in the R&B/pop genre includes producer and writer partnerships that are instrumental in defining not only successful albums but overall style for influential artists. He is behind much of both of Alessia Cara’s debut and sophomore albums, Kehlani’s #1 debut album, he produced and co-wrote songs for Nicki Minaj and Miguel, and had 3 songs on Lizzo’s Platinum-certified debut album “Cuz I Love You” that won Best Progressive R&B album and was nominated for Album Of The Year at the 2019 Grammys.
Felder has also produced and co-wrote The Chainsmokers’ top 10 single “Who Do You Love?” featuring 5 Seconds Of Summer, and Kehlani’s “Morning Glory” from her recent mixtape. Additionally, Oak has written and produced records with Mary J Blige, Toni Braxton, Pink Sweats, Miley Cyrus, Jason Derulo, Wiz Khalifa, Jennifer Lopez, Mabel and Big Sean amongst others.
Oak produced and wrote 2 original songs for the movie The United States vs. Billie Holiday, which won the Grammy for Visual Soundtrack album. He is featured in the the new Apple Mac book Pro ad, produced the majority of songs on the last 2 Demi Lovato albums, and had the main title song on the Space Jam film featuring Chance the Rapper and the End title in the forthcoming documentary We Dare To Dream produced by Angelina Jolie
His plate continues to be full with projects and releases, including Film composing by scoring recent films House Party and White Men Can’t Jump remakes along with Good Burger 2 on which he both composes the score and oversees the entire soundtrack album of original songs.
He recently produced and co-wrote “Best Friend Breakup” with Lauren Spencer Smith and “Texas” for Jessie Murph (feat. Maren Morris), wrote “Actions” by John Legend and has two others on John’s Grammy winning album Bigger Love and continues to collaborate with him. Rolling Stone called Oak “one of R&B’s most important producers.”
Oak is one of the most sought after producers and writers in R&B, hip-hop and pop music. He has recently worked with Tierra Whack on her global Apple commercial.
