Welcome to a new series of M.E. Advanced Masterclasses. M.E. features Grammy-Nominated Engineer & Producer Frank Socorro in a five-part live mixing masterclass. It’s a chance to watch over the engineer’s shoulder, ask questions in real time and apply the tips to your own mixes.

Frank started his audio career in the early 2000's working in the Miami area recording the diverse styles that occur in a city that’s developed into the melting pot it is today. During that time an opportunity to work on a Bad Boy project put him on a fast track that led to him working with artists such as Mary J Blige, Lenny Kravitz and Lauryn Hill. Eventually he would land a position as head engineer for super producer Salaam Remi. This new position brought a wider range of projects from Nas and Cee-Lo to major motion picture work for Rush Hour and Sex and the City. Along the way came 5 GRAMMY nominations and several gold and platinum plaques. He currently operates his own studio while working with the future of audio at the SAE Miami campus.

During the session we will discuss letting the song dictate your processing choices, organization, routing and the initial processing techniques that will set you up for a successful mix

Day 2 - Framing your mix
Here we find the focal point of the mix. We will discuss how to place the elements around the focal point so that they can sit in their proper space. Using various processes we can make sure everything is supporting the focal point.

Day 3 - Textures and depth
Here is where we can create those amazing textures that can separate your mixes from everyone else’s. We will discuss vocal fx chains as well creating custom spaces for the various instruments to get that depth of field we all look for.

Day 4 - Movement
This where we can add the valley’s and crescendos that make our music exciting. Through automation of various parameters we can create a mix that pulls the listener in and continuously keeps them engaged.

What is M.E.?
M.E. is a series of IRL and virtual live events to serve aspiring music creators through education, collaboration and celebration. Experience up-close and personal presentations with award-winning producer and industry experts, demo the latest music technology, and engage with your community IRL.
Who is this Mixing Masterclass for?
Artists, singer-songwriters, instrumentalists, music producers, audio engineers, DJs, and music students, but M.E. events are intended for anyone who is interested in the art of making music and to learn from award-winning producers. All are welcome!
What does my registration include?
$195 Live Session Series: With this ticket, you will receive access to each of the five live sessions, in addition to the ability to watch recorded sessions on-demand after they take place.
Where and when does Mixing Masterclass with Frank Socorro take place?
Mixing Masterclass with Frank Socorro is a virtual event series occurring every other day for 8 days, from January 11-17, 2020. When you register, you will be able to participate live from anywhere in the world.
Each live event will begin at 6pm PT/ 9pm ET for 2 hours
How will I join the event each evening?
You will receive a unique access link via email the morning of the live event.
What if I miss an episode or join after the series has already begun?
All attendees will receive a link to watch a recording of the live event on-demand after it has taken place. If you join the Mixing Masterclass with Frank Socorro after the series has begun, you will receive links to all of the recordings in a confirmation email so you can catch up before the next live event.
Can my colleagues and I share a subscription to the Mixing Masterclass with Frank Socorro?
Each attendee will receive a unique access link, so you cannot share a subscription with your colleagues.
